SuperValu, Ratoath – Energy Audit
After an energy and conditional audit of the building and its mechanical and electrical systems, Lawler Sustainability made a number of recommendations that if implemented would allow SuperValu Ratoath to increase the efficiency of the heating and ventilation system in the store. Our advice was to upgrade the control systems on the heating system, an evaluation and optimisation of duct-work, systems control, pumping systems upgrade, boiler house modifications, installation of duct mounted gas fired module, upgrade of fixed speed motors to variable speed with better IE standard and extraction fan control upgrades.
A capital budget was assigned to the heating and ventilation works with an estimated savings of 16% on the heating cost per annum. Additional electrical savings were achieved by controlling ventilation to required standards compared to the existing system which was in full operational mode. Lawler Sustainability has continued to provide planned preventative maintenance on the equipment installed and with remote access to the new building management system (BMS) can advise the client on issues as they arise.
