In 2019, Lawler Sustainability entered a 24-month service agreement with Meubles Kilkenny to perform major retail lighting upgrades resulting in significant energy savings for the store.
Retail Lighting Upgrade
In 2019, we entered a ‘Lighting as a Service’ agreement with Meubles Kilkenny which saw our team perform a full upgrade to the LED lighting and emergency lighting throughout the furniture store and café.
We began by completing an initial lighting survey and lighting redesign, along with a full energy and financial analysis of the store.
Following these initial assessments, our sustainability team was able to decide on and procure the right LED lighting solution for the client. In total, 1,082 energy-efficient LED lights were installed on this project.
SEAI Grant Funding
One of the many services we provide is SEAI grant consultancy. This involves us working with clients to recommend and acquire grants that are suitable to their needs and objectives.
Meubles availed of this service to great benefit.
Our ‘Lighting as a Service’ agreement was for a monthly payment of €2,961.21 per month for a period of 24 months. However, after being successful in the recommended grant applications, Meubles received 30% funding from the SEAI.
Guaranteed Energy Savings
In a ‘Lighting as a Service’ agreement, such as the one we had with Meubles, we guarantee that an agreed amount of energy savings will be passed onto the client.
The LED lighting upgrade has resulted in monthly energy bill savings of €1,642 for Meubles. This has helped the store immensely, saving them approximately €20,000 per annum.
Once more, the new LED lighting system has enabled them to create a more pleasant shopping experience by producing highlighting, adaptable lighting fixtures, and better working conditions for staff.
By installing 1,082 LED lights in Meubles flagship Kilkenny store, we helped create a better shopping experience while saving over €20k annually in electricity costs.
