After a fire destroyed much of the boiler and plant rooms at Seán Kelly Sports Centre, Lawler Sustainability was hired to complete renovation works in the building.
MEP Services
Following the fire, the Seán Kelly Sports Centre was able to attain emergency mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) services to ensure minimal disruption to the community services it provides.
However, these were only temporary and our engineering team was contacted to complete a full renovation.
We began with an initial visit to the site to assess the damage before making a number of energy-efficient recommendations. Boilers, heat pumps, and air handling units all suffered irreparable damage in the fire and needed to be replaced.
We also highlighted the need for both the vents and pool filters to be cleaned as soot was being blown from the plant room, through the vents, and into the pool area.
The Seán Kelly Sports Centre is a community stalwart of Carrick an Suir and thus, we at Lawler Sustainability were proud to play a key role in bringing it back to useable standards.
