An extension to the existing Environmental Protection Agency HQ in Wexford, Ireland was designed using passive design techniques to reduce energy usage and achieve an A3 Building Energy Rating (BER).
Sustainability Upgrades
Lawler Sustainability has worked continually with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in delivering quality buildings and building upgrades, including a new building extension which was added to the existing headquarters office in Co. Wexford.
This new building was designed using passive design which substantially reduces the energy usage of the building.
Through MEP upgrades such as the installation of a biomass boiler, automated lighting system, automated facades, heat recovery systems, rainwater harvesting, and photovoltaics, we achieved a highly energy efficient building that successfully attained an A3 Building Energy Rating (BER).
By integrating early in the design process, our team was able to maintain construction costs at a level not significantly higher than that of a non-green building.
