Building health and wellbeing has become about two things: people and business.

The WELL Building Standard

This is the premier standard for buildings, interior spaces and communities seeking to implement, validate and measure features that support and advance human health and wellness. WELL was developed by integrating scientific and medical research and literature on environmental health, behavioural factors, health outcomes and demographic risk factors that affect health with leading practices in building design, construction and management.

The WELL Building Standard underwent a comprehensive expert peer review process, which included three phases – scientific, practitioner and medical review. WELL Certification are third-party administered through IWBI’s collaboration with Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI).

The most recent Project that displays both the WELL and RESET Credentials is the iPUT Building in St Stephens Green, being occupied by Facebook. Wilton Terrace that will be occupied by LinkedIn is currently registered for WELL. And other companies such as Kennedy Wilson (Kildare Street Development), Irish Life Assurance and Iconic Offices have followed Suit with registration / certification for WELL.

Well Building Concepts

Fitwel Standard

Fitwel a more recent standard that has gained significant momentum, with many prestigious building choosing to adopt the Fitwel Certification such as the new NTMA Building on Dublin North Docks and has been adopted by companies such as Bouygues Construction in London have utilised the standard for their own fit-out.

In the US Where Fitwel and RESET are more developed both accreditations have been utilised in some buildings.

RESET Air Quality Standard

Increasingly Air Quality is at the fore, when discussing the lack of confidence and apprehension about the workplace, Continuous Air Quality monitoring and reporting via mobile phone App, Desktop or Display screens that are accessible to the Employees, is the most comprehensive way of addressing these concerns of workers.

There are two major competing Credentials for Health and Wellbeing and the RESET AIR Standard for Continuous Air Quality Monitoring, which is aligned with the Health and Well-being standards and the leading sustainability credentials.
