The GAA HQ in Dublin underwent an Engineering Report in order to check the quality of mechanical and electrical systems in place. Some of the boiler and plant rooms had not been audited in a long time and therefore machinery and equipment was due for upgrade. Due to the life expectancy of some systems, recommendations were made to ensure the health and safety welfare of the public.
Lawler Sustainability advised the replacement of the passenger lift in Cusack Stand which was not been upgraded in many years and therefore for health and safety reasons, needed close attention. From an analysis of the energy bills, it was noticed that energy savings measures were possible in a number of key areas including the Hogan Stand area in particular. Air circuit breakers needed replacing to improve equipment efficiency. A large generator which was being replaced every 8-10 years could be replaced with a standby generator which would use less energy and would need to be replaced every 30 years or slightly earlier to ensure energy efficiency.
